Smart and accomplished, T’23s begin their MBA studies at Tuck having set a new record for average GMAT, first generation college students, and more.
The newest cohort to embark on the two-year MBA journey at Tuck exhibits a robust intellectual aptitude and demonstrates the continued resonance of the Tuck mission around the globe.
The Tuck class of 2023 arrives with an average GMAT of 724, a new record high for the school, alongside impressive GRE scores (162 verbal, 162 quant), and an average GPA of 3.54. The first-year MBA students come from 227 unique employers and have on average more than five years of professional experience.
“We’ve enrolled a class of engaged and impactful students with a proven track record of academic excellence,” says Pat Harrison, co-executive director of admissions and financial aid. “These are students who are excited by challenges and motivated to learn from others. They’re an accomplished and ambitious group.”
At 294, the class has five more students than the class of 2022 and is the largest class at Tuck to date. Including dual citizens and U.S. permanent residents, 41 percent of the class is international representing 35 distinct countries. Sixteen percent of the class are the first in their families to go to college. Six percent of the class identifies as LGBTQ. And among U.S. students, 29 percent represent a U.S. minority.
Tuck remains among the leading MBA programs in enrolling the most women students. For the 2021-22 academic year, women comprise 46 percent of the first-year class and 49 percent of the second-year class.
“Every T’23 has brought a different set of experiences with them to Tuck—experiences that have shaped who they are and their character,” says Amy Mitson, co-executive director of admissions and financial aid. “The diversity and range of these experiences offer Tuck students a tremendous opportunity to learn from and encourage one another. We can’t wait to see the impact each student has on the community.”
