The 2024 WIBCo student co-chairs reflect on legacy and inspiring women to drive lasting impact in business and beyond.
The 2024 Tuck Women in Business Conference (WIBCo) kicks off Friday, November 1, 2024, in Hanover, NH.
The three-day event celebrates the strengths, contributions, and aspirations of women globally. At WIBCo, attendees are encouraged to discover how to best utilize their unique talents to drive positive change in their workplace, communities, MBA experience, and life.
This year’s theme “Charting your Legacy” inspires women to leave a lasting mark in their MBA and beyond. Highlights from the 2024 WIBCo include panels with faculty and alumni, a mock class, career sessions and coffee chats, a social event hosted by the Tuck Band, and keynote speeches from Tuck alumnae Marvena St. Agathe T’10 and Lucile Chung T’08.
As we look ahead to WIBCo, the 2024 co-chairs—T’25s Rushika Athia, Zoe Kaslow, Helena Lintel, Priya Ochani, Tori Semaan, Emily Steele, and Robin Tory—reflect on this year’s theme and what makes WIBCo and Tuck such transformative experiences.
Being part of the organizing team for the 2023 Women in Business Conference was truly instrumental to my growth at Tuck. It was, without a doubt, the highlight of my first year. Working alongside passionate, driven women to create an impactful event for our peers and prospective students opened my eyes to the incredible power of our Tuck community. Through this work, I found myself becoming deeply invested in the success of not just the conference, but of every woman in our Tuck network. This sense of purpose and community involvement has been transformative, making me profoundly grateful to be part of this extraordinary group of future business leaders.
This year's theme, "Charting Your Legacy," resonates with me deeply. It encapsulates the idea that our time at Tuck is not just about immediate career goals, but about laying the foundation for a lasting impact in the business world and beyond.
To me, charting your legacy means:
Rushika Athia is a second-year MBA candidate at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In addition to serving as a Co-Chair for WIBCo, she is a Visiting Executive Host Fellow, a Peer Support Counselor, and a Non-Profit Board Fellow, working with Good Beginnings in the Upper Valley.
Prior to Tuck, Rushika built a successful career in finance, most recently as a Vice President in Fund Finance at Pacific Western Bank. Rushika holds a BA in English Literature from Georgetown University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She is proficient in Spanish, Gujarati, and Hindi.
The Women in Business Conference in 2022 played a pivotal role in my decision to come to Tuck. As a new mother with a five-month-old, I knew I needed to be sure in my decision of which business school to attend as our family would uproot their lives to support my education. WIBCo in 2022 was the first night I spent away from my son, and as I drove to campus, I oscillated between exhilaration to dive into this new opportunity and terror about the change it might mean for my family.
When I arrived on campus, I was struck by the beauty of the area and the friendliness of the Tuck students. The WIBCo co-chairs ensured I felt comfortable and had what I needed for the weekend to be a success. It was the most organized conference I had ever attended, and the conference signaled a student body both serious about their work and intent of making you feel connected to the school.
I knew Tuck was the place for me when I heard the faculty panel and incredible professors like Teresa Fort and Ella Bell Smith speak about their experiences as professionals and educators. I remember Professor Smith looking at the audience, and telling us that the door to the business world had been pushed open by the women before us and it was our moment to kick it in. I got chills hearing her speak, and that panel allowed me to imagine my life as a thriving professional and a mother at Tuck and beyond. I knew this experience would be meaningful for me, but also for my family and my son and for the women who come through Tuck after me.
As I think about “Charting My Legacy,” I continually reflect on what experiences can shape me into a leader who will support those alumnae who leave Tuck after me.
Zoe Kaslow is a second-year student at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In addition to serving as a WIB Co-Chair, she participates in the Initiative on Workplace Inclusion, Tripod Hockey, and Tiny Tuckies. This summer, she was an MBA Strategy Intern at New Balance.
Before Tuck, Zoe worked for eight years in the nonprofit sector, in direct service, leadership and fundraising. In addition to her professional career, Zoe also served as a council member on the Vermont Women’s Fund Council as well as an elected city council member of the city of Vergennes. Zoe holds a BA in Psychology from Middlebury College.
My first experience with the Tuck community was during Admitted Students Weekend, and it truly was transformative. I was deeply impressed by the warmth, humility, and excitement of the current and prospective students around me. This experience made me fully committed to the two years ahead.
This year’s theme resonates deeply with me because Tuck has empowered me to leverage my strengths, clarify my career goals, and surround myself with inspiring individuals. The accomplished alumni network, supportive leaders, and highly engaged student body offer countless opportunities to shape your journey and make a lasting impact in the MBA community.
If I could go back in time, I would have attended the Women in Business Conference to gain a deeper understanding of the MBA, make meaningful relationships, and witness firsthand the doors the MBA can open for you. The community of women at Tuck is exceptional, offering unparalleled support, inspiration, and camaraderie. I hope you can experience this for yourself at WIBCo this year.
Helena Lintel is a second-year student at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In addition to serving as a WIBCo Co-Chair, she is a Europe Club Co-Chair, Wine Club Co-Chair, Tuck Admissions Associate, and Center for Health Care Fellow. This summer, she interned at BCG Boston as a Summer Consultant.
Originally from Belgium, Helena grew up internationally, attending high school in Dubai and Shanghai. She moved to Boston for undergrad at Boston College, where she studied biology and economics.
From the moment I first learned about the Women in Business Conference, I knew I wanted to be a part of it but as an international student it was challenging to make that happen. The first time I stepped onto the Tuck campus for the start of our class of 2025, I already knew from conversations with students and alumni how strong and supportive the community was. But experiencing that firsthand on campus was something entirely different—almost magical. I finally joined in 2023 as a first-year co-chair, and being part of this incredible event and seeing over 75 aspiring women eager to pursue an MBA and become wise, decisive leaders was truly inspiring. WIBCo is not just a conference; it’s a forum where you can assess if Tuck fits your goals and if you fit into the school’s unique fabric before making a significant investment in your future.
This year’s theme, "Charting Your Legacy," deeply resonates with me. To me, success isn’t something that follows a predefined path—it’s about defining your own milestones, setting your own course, and creating a lasting impact in your own unique way. The Tuck MBA experience provides the resources, network, and support to make that vision a reality. Every moment here has been transformative, shaping me into the professional leader I aspire to be. And the sense of community at Tuck, whether you’re right here on campus or thousands of miles from home, has made this journey feel like I’m home. I sincerely hope that others get to experience this same transformative journey, both at Tuck and through platforms like WIBCo, where aspiring women leaders gather to learn, grow, and inspire one another.
Priya Ochani is a second-year student at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In addition to serving as a WIB Co-Chair, she is Mental Health Wellness Initiative (MHWI) Co-Chair, Dance Club Co-Chair and a Tuck Admissions Associate. She interned at Bain & Co this summer.
Prior to Tuck, Priya grew up in a small town near Mumbai in India where she studied to become a Chartered Accountant. Following that, she worked in startups in strategy & ops majorly in fintech and SaaS space.
Although I was unable to attend WIBCo as a prospective student, leading the conference alongside my classmates has brought the theme, "Charting Your Legacy," into even sharper focus for me.
The moment I first stepped foot on Tuck’s campus, I knew it was where I wanted to grow as a leader. Now one year into my MBA with the opportunity to help shape the experience for others, I see how powerful the Tuck community truly is. This year’s theme highlights not just the achievements we aim for during our time within the Tuck community, but the long-lasting impact we strive to make in our lives overall.
WIBCo has always been a cornerstone for bringing together strong, motivated women who are eager to support one another and create meaningful change. As a Tuckie, I have witnessed how the intimate, collaborative nature of Tuck fosters this mantra in the classroom and beyond. The focus of this year’s conference feels especially important because it reminds me of what makes Tuck so special—this institution is a place where we are all encouraged to not only reach for success, but also to cultivate the values, connections, and skills that will allow us to leave a lasting impact in the world.
I hope those in attendance this year are able to feel the energy that exudes from this special place in the woods—the energy that is created by each Tuckie that walks through these halls.
Tori Semaan is a second-year student at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In addition to serving as WIBCo Co-Chair, she is President of WIB, Co-Chair of Entertainment, Sports, & Media Club, Co-Chair of Marketing Club, a Forte Ambassador, and a Campus Ambassador. This summer, Tori interned at a Stealth Startup as a Customer Research & Market Analyst.
Prior to Tuck, Tori grew up in Southern California. SoCal born and raised, she attended the University of California, San Diego where she studied Human Biology and walked onto the university’s NCAA rowing team as a former basketball player. After undergrad, she spent 4-5 years working across the healthcare industry within a variety of product management roles. Tori is passionate about sports, believing that they have the unique ability of bringing people together. She loves exploring the outdoors (land, sea, or otherwise), playing any and all sports, and spending time with those she cares most about.
I attended WIBCo in 2022, and I left the weekend feeling inspired by the students and faculty of Tuck. The student volunteers were so happy to welcome us to campus, and everyone I met was extremely friendly and helpful. They shared open and honest stories about their Tuck experiences, and I remember thinking how amazing it was that students shared such different stories that all came back to the same theme, which is that Tuck’s community is what truly sets it apart. To then hear from faculty who have seen multiple Tuck classes graduate express their gratitude and admiration for Tuck students, I knew Tuck must truly be a special place.
I am so excited to be a WIBCo 2024 co-chair and to bring talented women to campus for a weekend of thoughtful conversation, meaningful introspection, and fun activities in the Upper Valley. The theme of “Charting Your Legacy” is one that will help set the tone of intentionality for the weekend as we all start to think beyond our everyday actions and more about the story we want our lives to tell and the impact we want to have on the world.
Emily Steele is a second-year student at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In addition to her role as a WIB Co-Chair, Emily is a Revers Fellow, Co-Chair of the Energy Club, Co-Chair of the Tuck Student Initiative for Decarbonization (TSID), and Tripod Captain.
Prior to Tuck, Emily grew up in New Orleans before attending Tufts University where she received a BS in Engineering Psychology and Environmental Studies. She then worked for five years at two different software companies, helping utilities manage their energy efficiency programs. For her summer internship, Emily worked as a Product Manager intern at Apple in California.
I attended WIBCo for the first time in 2022 as a prospective student, and it was during that weekend that I realized Tuck was where I belonged. It wasn’t just the access to the outdoors right in my backyard that captured me; it was the warmth of the community. The students and faculty felt like family, and I immediately felt at home at Tuck.
This year’s theme, “Charting Your Legacy,” resonates deeply with me. I've always followed my passions, especially in my career. Growing up as a competitive dancer sparked my creativity, and I dreamed of working in fashion where I could create memorable experiences. After college, I pursued this dream in the luxury fashion industry.
At Tuck, I’ve continued to nurture my passion for retail while exploring new fields like luxury hospitality. Tuck encourages students to shape their MBA experience around their passions, and through various projects, I’ve been able to blend my interests in retail and hospitality, further developing my skills in these industries.
“Charting your legacy” is at the heart of the MBA experience at Tuck. By bringing our authentic selves, along with diverse strengths and expertise, we can leave a lasting impact. I’m grateful for my Tuck journey and hope this weekend inspires attendees to envision charting their own legacies at Tuck and beyond.
Robin Tory is a second-year student at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In addition to serving as a WIB Co-Chair, she manages the student-run retail store TuckStuff, and is a Co-Chair of the Retail and Consumer Club, the Real Estate Club, and the Outdoor Club. This summer, Robin interned at McKinsey & Company as an associate consultant in the New York Office.
Prior to Tuck, Robin grew up in Montreal, Canada. She attended Western University in Ontario where she studied business and communications and danced competitively on the university’s dance team. Following undergrad, she spent 3 years working in the luxury fashion industry at the Canadian headquarters of Hermès where she managed product categories across all Hermès stores in Canada.
